I define my art as my work, inside of my work I create Projects; projects are defined by content, material, areas of study and methods of making. Projects often begin as isolated ideas or singular process of working, sometimes they develop as off chutes from existing projects. After development these projects grow and begin to overlap and combine. The projects or studies are the basis for my art work and guide my investigation of the world. They are starting points and in many ways there own bodies of work. I create them to better understand myself and to help me map my growth and organize my own art work. Many of these bodies of work exist for years before I feel that they mature enough to be shown as serious work, but they are integral to my development; they serve as personal history, provide inspiration, guidance and a playground for me to retreat into.
